« Until 1998, it was my father and my uncle, Göran J. Ehrnrooth and Robert G. who owned the farm, says Albert Ehrnrooth. This year I took my brother Alexander of my uncle’s part, and now we did a generation which means that I take over Kiala farm ».
In April officially transferred ownership to him. There are a couple of years since the family began to think about this generational change, and now felt that the time was right.
Albert Ehrnrooth is not itself a practical farmer. He is an economist and has worked with others. The last five years he has had a lot of responsibility for the farm business, he says.

Capture d_écran 2017-08-19 à 16.43.50Was a Swedish general and statesman. Entering the Swedish army aged 13 in the Finnish Light Cavalry Brigade, he was present when Gustav III launched his coup-d’etat. He studied military theory in Stockholm. In 1777 he joined the Savolax Brigade protecting the Finnish border against Russian aggression. Adlercreutz first saw action in the 1788-1790 Russo-Swedish War, where he distinguished himself. He was promoted Major in 1791 and Squadron Commander 1792. During the Anjala mutiny he remained faithful to the King, standing against the war with Russia, then took part in the trials against the conspirators. He was thereafter appointed the commanding officer of the Nyland Dragoons, holding this post until 1804, when he was made Colonel-in-Chief of the newly raised Adlercreutz Regiment.

At the opening of the Finnish war Adlercreutz was appointed Ofverste commanding the 2nd brigade under Klercker. He replaced Gustaf Löwenhielm as Wilhelm Mauritz Klingspor’s Chief of Staff on 14 April. Adlercreutz distinguished himself in action at Siikajoki, 18 April, and at Revolax, 27th. On 24 June he forced the Russians from Nykarleby. As CO of the Northern ‘Army’ he drove Raevsky from Lappo in a brilliant action on 14 July, then defeated the Russians again at Alavo in August. At the end of that month he was appointed to command the ‘Finnish’ Division under Klingspor. Forced to retreat due to the Swedish victories not being exploited, he was severely defeated by Nikolay Kamensky at the Battle of Oravais 14 September, which obliged him to abandon Finland.
Adlercreutz returned to Stockholm to take charge of a military junta ruling the country in place of the insane King Gustav IV after the Coup of 1809. With Georg Adlersparre, on 13 March 1809 at the head of the Junta he arrested the King and seized power. Adlercreutz proposed that he himself should be made king, but the French General Bernadotte was chosen instead as Crown Prince Charles XIII. Later the two generals quarreled, and Adlersparre was disgraced, while Adlercreutz remained in favor, elected Count and took a seat in the Government.

« You really see, the last image, how he is supposed to have been : constantly angry. Moreover, he was almost stone deaf (it was because he was angry ?). Or was it to life tested him hard ?
« He was separated from parents and siblings, except one older brother. The brother died a few years after they came to Tosterup in Skåne. Carlos became the father of three children with his wife Luitgard Colliander. She died when the third child, Luitgard was born. After Carlos remarried, he became father for a fourth time. The girl, Zoila, died when she was only 4-5 years.
One of the daughters, Eleanor, was not like the others, but he managed to get her married off. The marriage lasted only a few years, then threw the man out « Nuttan » with the words « I can not stand another day. »
The same year, a few months later, the scandal occurred : the second son in law escaped with a circus princess, killed herself and her daughter, and left Carlos luck remain as 30-year-old widow. Of all the difficulties experienced Carlos must be the year 1889 has been his « annus horribilis ». His obituary was : constantly furious. Was it encapsulated sadness that made Carlos furious ? Poor Granny Grandpa ! »

Luitgard died in January 1859. She was pregnant during most of 1858. The photo must be taken early in the year or in 1857 or earlier.
It was very unusual that was photographed while, especially if you like Luitgard lived out in the province. It was not until the 1860s that the art of photography became popular. »

Also known as « Sixten Sparre » ; son of Gabriel Gerhard Sparre af Rossvik & Adelaide Virginia Peijron ; Lieutenant at the Royal Skåne Dragoon Regiment in Kristianstad.

Mozart – Concerto Piano – Elvira Madigan

Count of Mühlhausen, Gondelsheim, Skenninge and Stjernorp, Lord of Langenstein and Stjernorp castles, was a conservative Swedish politician and official. He was a direct patrilineal descendant of Field Marshal Robert Douglas. His parents were Count Carl Israel Douglas, first count of the Douglas family in the nobility of Baden (since 1848) as Count of Mühlhausen, and his wife countess Louise von Gondelsheim and Langenstein, Capture d_écran 2017-08-21 à 08.49.59herself a daughter of the morganatic marriage of Louis I, Grand Duke of Baden and Katharina Werner. Through his mother, he was a second cousin of Victoria of Baden, wife of King Gustaf V of Sweden.
He received the fideicommiss of Muhlhausen and the castle of Langenstein as his share of the family inheritance and reclaimed in 1875 his ancestral castle of Stjernorp in Sweden, which had been lost to his family after a fire in 1789. He ultimately succeeded his childless elder brother as head of the comital House of Douglas.
Douglas was a protectionist and solidly oriented towards Germany. From 1895 to 1899, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden. He resigned because he refused to accept that Norway (then in union with Sweden) would have their flag without the mark of the union, i.e. he opposed the so-called pure flag.
He also held the position of Riksmarskalk (Marshal of the Realm) (1911-1916), Landshövding (governor) of Uppsala County (1893-1895), and Landshövding (governor) of Östergötland County (1901-1912). Douglas worked for the Norrlander farmers’ party against the forest products companies, they demanded protective legislation in field of wood market.

Also known as « Anna Sparre ».

It was in the 72 room mansion Adelsnäs large [illustration ci-dessous], with a total living area of 4.500 square meters, which Gustaf Adelswärd moved with his parents and siblings in 1975. He was then 11 years old, and to say the least excited about their new home. Since 2005 live Gustaf Adelswärd here with his own family : his wife Maria and their children Ebba and Wilhelm. The family has a 400 m2 apartment on the second floor.

Foundation formed in 2014 by testamentary disposition by Carl-Göran Adelswärd (1944-2013). Through his childhood Adelsnäs in Atvidaberg and closely related to the Barony Adel Swärds forestry activities were legislature early in a natural familiarity with Swedish manor culture and founded a lively interest in forest history. During his lifetime the founder preserved its strong cultural interest and engagement on these issues, recognizing the importance of continuous documentation and research in these two areas.

Gosta Adelswärd is one Östergötland cultural personality which meant a lot of at-wide mountain culture. He grew up on the villa in Atvidaberg and he became after his studies in Uppsala their home faithful. He was what you might call a private scholar. His academic training was a lawyer, but his formation humanist. « To cultivate his garden » was for him really a philosophy of life – with it was not just his garden in Atvidaberg which he, in the literal sense, cultivated with great success. He also cultivated scholars and amusing knowledge of different cultural topics, which he then processed and passed on to the listeners and readers.

Capture d_écran 2017-08-21 à 09.21.18
His lessons might seem easy-going, but the entertaining arguments bottomed always idjup knowledge. His large and wide production is difficult to grasp because he mainly published in article form. The articles found in newspapers, magazines or yearbooks today are difficult to obtain. But with this bibliography facilitated the work of searching for his writings.

Fr Nicolas von Malaise Ordination & First Mass :

« On Saturday 19th January 2013 at St Georges Cathedral, Southwark, Deacon Nicolas von Malaisé was ordained priest by Archbishop Peter Smith. Father Nicolas started his ministry as an Anglican priest, his last parish was in Birmingham, and Saturday was the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Seven years ago as an Anglican priest he married Kirsty and they have a son, Matthias. After he was received into the Catholic Church he embarked on a course of formation at St John’s seminary in preparation for ordination to the Catholic diaconate and priesthood.

Capture d_écran 2017-08-21 à 10.14.55
Capture d_écran 2017-08-21 à 10.15.07On Sunday 20th January at Our Lady Immaculate Parish he celebrated his “first” Mass. Afterwards he gave his first blessing and joined many of the parishioners for refreshments and the cutting of a cake made especially for the occasion. Fr. Nicolas will work at Our Lady Immaculate parish as an assistant priest until he is appointed as a parish priest later in the year.
Some Catholics ask, “How can a former Anglican be ordained a Catholic priest as he is married ?” A married former Anglican minister can be ordained as a Catholic deacon and then priest, because he is exempt by a special favour or dispensation from the Holy Father of making the promise of celibacy ; however, if he later became a widower, then he would be bound to a celibate lifestyle and could not remarry.

He was a Swedish nobleman and soldier who served as Chief of the Army from 1944 to 1948. Following his family’s traditions, he was educated in the military, and he took part also voluntarily in many combat developments. As a relatively young man, Archibald Douglas participated as a volunteer in the Civil War of 1918 in Finland, and received in that country the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. After the Finnish adventure, he continued a steady career in Swedish land forces, despite Sweden being neutral all his career. His tasks were more like guard duties and maintaining defense capabilities.

In 1930s and 1940s, Archibald held commands over large military districts, and as Chief of the Army (1944–48). Douglas wrote biographical literature and biographies of Marshal of Finland Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim (his Finnish contemporary), and Swedish Field Marshal Robert Douglas, Count of Skenninge, his ancestor. The ancestral Stjärnorp Castle [illustration ci-dessous : main ruins], which his father had purchased back to the family some years before Archibald’s birth, was designated as Archibald’s family seat.

Robin is a younger brother of Richard, 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, husband of Princess Benedikte of Denmark. Because she did not discontinue her responsibilities as a princess in her native land after marriage and spends a substantial portion of her time there, she retained the prospect of transmitting Danish succession rights to her own children under specific conditions. No final ruling on the dynastic status in Denmark of his brother’s unmarried son, Hereditary Prince Gustav having been issued, Robin and, after him, his son Sebastian and grandson Ferdinand follow Gustav in the line of succession to inherit the Berleburg legacy in the event Gustav were to renounce it to take up permanent residence in Denmark, or if he were to die without any direct male heirs.
